Chicaoji

Food Is Medicine

Chicaoji began with Randall Waugh trying an unusual snack his friend shared with him: goji berries and cacao nibs. As soon as Waugh tried the pair, he felt something awaken in him. That something is now the local business Chicaoji.

What was missing from Waugh’s friend’s snack was a kick of heat. Once Waugh experimented with this time after time again, he created Chicaoji. Chicaoji gets its name from its three ingredients: CHIpotle, caCAO, goJI. Waugh leaned on the local’s knowledge of ingredients and excitement for his growing idea, and, eventually, his business was born. He could not have done it without the help and support he received from locals and his loved ones.

Incorporating this sense of community into Chicaoji products, Waugh realized that he wanted his sauces to provide healing, connection, and contentment. Chicaoji revolves around a desire to provide a space to gather and heal. Each ingredient represents a “Tribe,” and each one employs its home flora and fauna. Where else do you find sauce that special?
