Assistant Produce Manager:

Works in conjunction with the Manager to supervise, administer, and coordinate activities of the Produce Department.  May supervise other employees; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Fully qualified candidate to possess:

• 3-5 years in a similar work environment
• 5 years of supervisory experience preferred

Head of Maintenance:

As the head of maintenance operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical operation of our 23,000sq ft grocery store.  This includes maintaining equipment, cleaning store, and managing another maintenance tech.  This is a full-time position that requires great attention to detail and the ability to work well with others.  This position will also require the scheduling flexibility to attend manager meetings, when necessary.

 Hours are negotiable.

Fully qualified candidate to possess:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar environment plus supervisory experience
• Experience with various tools to include floor scrubber, power washers, steam cleaners, etc
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Island Market is searching for a detail oriented individual to contribute to our Sales Operations team.

GM/HABA Associate:

Island Market is searching for a personable individual to provide great customer service, as well as maintaining and operating the General Merchandise/Health and Beauty Aide department.

Fully qualified candidate will:

  • Experience in a similar environment
  • Create outstanding customer experiences through exceptional customer service.
  • Receive, count, scan, and ensure product quality of all department goods.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable on industry trends and new products.
  • Ensure accurate product pricing and information in the department.
  • Assisting customers with special orders.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintain company visual merchandising standards.
  • Meet and coordinate with vendors and distributors.
  • Ensure all resets and planograms are executed as directed.
  • Responsible for ordering merchandise; ensure best price and seeking best deals.
  • Proactive seasonal and holiday planning
  • Effective verbal, sales, and customer service skills

We are looking for an experienced cashier to assist in leading our front-end team. If you have leadership and cashier experience, we are hiring team leads as well as an assistant manager for our front-end team!

We are looking for night, weekend, and daytime shifts with flexible hours.

Store Administrator :

Never thought about working for a grocery store?? Maybe you should!  Island Market is looking for an Office Administrator to oversee the business office and store administration needs.  We are looking for an outgoing, positive person who want to make a difference in the community by helping oversee the accounting, payroll, human resource, and management practices with a small team in the business office.

Relocation assistance available.

As the Store Administrator for Island Market you will be primarily responsible for the administration of the entire store including the business office which oversees human resources, payroll, AP/AR, store tills and receiving liaison. 

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Preferred business degree in accounting or 7 years experience
  • Supervisory/Leadership skills required
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of payroll, clerical, human resources, business and management practices and procedures
